January 2006

Aloha Chapter Members and Friends,

2005 has come and gone quicker than I have anticipated.  I hope that everyone has had a joyous and safe holiday, with a prosperous new year to come.  Some of the highlights of 2005 were:

  • Representation by your Hawaii chapter president at the IAAI AGM in Washington, DC
  • A visit from Mr. David Nichols, board of directors, IAAI
  • A chapter donation made to the Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund
  • Annual Training Seminar “Back to Basics-Hawaiian Style” with keynote instructor Mr. Jim Allen
  • Annual General Meeting at the Willows Restaurant

Our average active chapter membership remains the same for the year end 2005, and I look forward to a more active membership drive in 2006.  I appreciate the continued support that I, as well as the Hawaii State Chapter of the IAAI have received throughout the year, and I humbly ask for your continued support to the chapter and the incoming president.  I welcome President Mr. Colin Shigemasa, 1st VP Mr. John Dela Vega,  2nd VP-elect Mr. Val Martin, and Board of Director-elect Mr. Scott Seguirant to their new post.  May they bring continued representation to the general membership.

It was also a welcome response to see that our chapter website has logged over 400 visits since I made the challenge in July 2005.  I encourage everyone to remain active with our state chapter as well as the international IAAI and I now challenge everyone to visit the international website at www.firearson.com to find out more about the valuable benefits, that membership with an excellent organization such as the IAAI can provide.  If you may need further information, email or call me.  I am more than willing to help you with your membership application process.

Take Care & Be Safe,

Terio M. Bumanglag Jr.
