From the Board

Former International President Jack Ward incurred a terrible family tragedy this summer when his son was killed in an auto accident. Many of you who donít know Jack probably donít realize that he was a major player in the formation of our chapter. He has also been a lecturer at several of our seminars. In determining what to do for Jack and his family the board decided to donate money to the I.A.A.I. educational foundation in his name.

Steve Whiting, Barbara Maxwell, Valeriano Martin and Paul Stankiewicz attended this yearís IAAI Annual meeting in Atlantic City New Jersey. All I can say is Vegas is a lot closer. This year for the first time, mail-in absentee ballots were used and they were a major factor in the elections to office.

The new IAAI President I. J. Kranats vowed to continue the programs started by his predecessors.A topic of discussion was how to have more chapter members become international members.I strongly agree with this and would suggest to anyone who is involved in fire investigation to join the international. The next IAAI annual meeting will be held May 19th to May 24th 2002 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

As a reminder the annual meeting for our chapter will be held November 9th, 2001 at the Sea Breeze restaurant on Hickam Air Force Base.As soon as we have the arrangements completed we will have more information for you.
